The three themes

  • Paper — warm cream and dark ink, set like a printed almanac. The default, and the one most people stay on.
  • Cosmic — a near-black, gold-accented low-light theme. This is the dark mode: built for evenings and dim rooms, not a flat inversion of Paper.
  • Y2K — soft lavender with a violet accent. Lighter in mood, easy on the eyes, a little nostalgic.

Serif or sans, your call

A single Type setting flips the entire app between an all-serif setting (Fraunces — the editorial register tadoy ships in) and an all-sans setting (Inter Tight, cleaner and more neutral). It's independent of the theme, so any of the six combinations is one tap away — try them in the switcher above.

Choose once, then it gets out of the way

The theme lives in personalisation alongside density and the module order — set it once and the whole app follows, every day, on every screen and widget. No theme nags, no seasonal skins, no upsell. The point of tadoy is the day in front of you; the theme just makes that page somewhere calm to look.

Common questions about themes

How many themes are there?
Three — Paper, Cosmic and Y2K — each with a serif or sans type setting, for six looks in total. tadoy opens in Paper with serif type.
Does it have a dark mode?
Cosmic is the dark theme — near-black with a warm gold accent, made for low light rather than a flat inverted palette. You pick it directly.
Can I change the font?
Yes. One Type setting flips the whole app between all-serif (Fraunces) and all-sans (Inter Tight), independent of the theme.
Are themes a paid extra?
No. Every theme and both type settings are part of the app — one subscription, no theme packs.
