Pricing

Pricing

One price. No tiers, no ads, no surprises.

Most apps in this space open with a paywall and a countdown timer before you've seen a single screen. tadoy doesn't. You get 14 days with the whole app — a free first week in the app, then Apple's 7-day trial — before any money moves, one subscription unlocks everything, you can cancel in two taps, and your writing is always yours to keep — even if you stop paying. This page is the plain version of all of that.

The price

Monthly $9.99 / month The whole library. Cancel any time.
Annual Best value $59.99 / year About $5/month — roughly half the monthly rate.

Both plans unlock the same thing: the entire app. There is no free tier with the good parts removed, no per-module add-ons, no "pro" upsell inside the app, and no lifetime plan. One subscription, every surface — journal, mood, body, habits, goals, scripture, sky, and the calm, optional AI (Ask, the daily Outlook, and the opt-in evening review). Prices are in USD; the App Store shows your local currency at checkout.

How the free time works

There are two free periods on purpose, and neither one is a trick:

  • A free first week, in the app. No card, no account wall, nothing to cancel. The full library is open so you can find out whether tadoy actually fits your day before you decide anything.
  • Then a 7-day Apple trial. Apple's standard free trial. Your iPhone's Settings → Subscriptions screen shows the exact date it ends and the price it will renew at. Cancel any time inside those 7 days and you are not charged.
  • Then it renews at the plan you chose — $9.99/month or $59.99/year — until you cancel.

Net effect: 14 days of the real app — 7 in-app, then Apple's 7-day trial — before any money changes hands, and the charge date is never a surprise; Apple shows it to you in advance.

Cancelling

Cancelling is handled by Apple, not buried inside our app behind a retention maze. On your device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → tadoy → Cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps your access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't show "are you sure?" guilt screens or make you email us to leave.

Refunds

Because Apple processes the payment, Apple also handles refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com — it's a short form and Apple is generally reasonable, especially for an accidental or recent charge. If something we did caused the problem, write to contact@galactics.center as well, so we can actually fix it rather than just refund and move on.

If you stop paying, your data stays

A lapsed subscription never holds your writing hostage. If the subscription ends, tadoy moves to a read-only mode: everything you've logged stays visible, nothing is deleted, and you can still export a readable copy of all of it — CSV or a day-by-day PDF — at any time. Export is never paywalled, even when the subscription has lapsed. Resubscribe later and the app simply picks up where it left off. The full data picture is on the privacy page.

What we won't do

The pricing is meant to be the boring, trustworthy part of the app. So, plainly — tadoy will not:

  • show a paywall before you've had a real look at the app;
  • run countdown timers or fake "limited-time" discounts;
  • charge you without the date being visible to you first;
  • split the app into tiers or sell features back to you one by one;
  • show ads, or sell or share your data for advertising — ever;
  • make leaving harder than joining;
  • paywall the export of your own writing.

Common questions

Why is there a free week and a trial?
The free first week is in-app — no card, no commitment, the whole library open so you can see if tadoy earns a place in your day. The 7-day trial after it is Apple's standard free trial. Together that's 14 days — seven in-app, then Apple's seven — before any money moves.
When am I actually charged?
Only after both free periods end. During the Apple trial your iPhone's Settings → Subscriptions screen shows the exact date it converts and the price it renews at. Cancel any time before that date and you pay nothing.
Is there a lifetime or one-time purchase?
No. tadoy includes AI, scripture data, and server-side chart work that cost money every month, so a one-time price would mean either cutting those off later or charging for "upgrades." A single honest subscription is the trade we chose instead.
Will the price go up after I subscribe?
If we ever change pricing, Apple's rules protect existing subscribers — you keep the rate you signed up at unless you explicitly agree to a change. A price change can't be applied to you silently.
What if the price is a real barrier?
Tell us at contact@galactics.center. We don't have a formal student or hardship program yet, but we'd rather hear from you than lose you over cost. A real person reads it.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. The app moves to a read-only mode — everything you've written stays visible, and exporting a readable copy (CSV or a day-by-day PDF) is never paywalled, even with a lapsed subscription. Resubscribe and it picks up where it was.
