Privacy Policy
Effective May 25, 2026.
tadoy ("we", "us") is a daily page. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it to be readable. The shorter version is on the homepage; this is the complete account.
1. Who we are
tadoy is operated by Galactiics LLC. You can reach us at contact@galactics.center.
2. What we collect, and where it lives
tadoy is built so that the most personal content you create stays on your device. Here's the full picture:
Stays on your device
- Journal entries — anything you write in the journal module. The full text never leaves your device, except for the short snippets you choose to surface in the optional AI features described below.
- Mood and body check-ins — your check-in data and notes.
- Habits, quitting, goals, money, owed, countdowns — the content of these tracking modules.
- Cycle tracking (if you enable it) — menstrual cycle data is sensitive and is stored locally only.
- Bathroom log (if you enable it) — Bristol type, flags, notes. Local only.
- Us / Circle entries — names, dates, and notes for the people you choose to remember.
- App preferences — visible modules, theme, density.
We don't sync this content to our servers. Instead, tadoy automatically backs it up to your own private iCloud (Apple's iCloud / CloudKit, in your Apple account) so it survives a lost or replaced phone. This backup lives in your iCloud, not on our servers — we never have access to it, and Apple encrypts it at rest. Automatic iCloud backup is on by default; you can also save a backup file yourself and export a readable copy of your data (CSV or PDF) at any time. See "Your rights and choices" below.
Sent to our servers
- Profile basics — your name, date of birth, and (if you provide them) your birth time and birthplace as a place name. We use these to compute your natal chart and other optional reading systems. We do not collect GPS or precise location for this.
- Weather and location — if you enable weather, your device's location is reduced to a coarse, city-level area (roughly a 10 km region — never precise GPS) and sent to our weather provider, Open-Meteo, to fetch today's conditions, sunrise, and sunset. It is not stored by us or linked to you.
- Computed charts and daily reads — when you request a chart, daily reading, compatibility lookup, or use one of the AI features, we generate the result on our servers and may briefly cache it (typically up to 48 hours for daily content) so the app stays fast.
- AI feature inputs — see "AI features" below. Different features send different things: Ask sends only what you type into it; Heal sends the symptom description you write into it; the optional evening review and morning Outlook send a short, structured summary of the day's signals — which, for the Outlook, can include the titles and times of today's calendar events and reminders so the handover is specific.
- Notifications — the morning, evening, ritual, and affirmation reminders you enable are scheduled locally on your device. No push token or notification content is sent to our servers.
- Subscription status — your trial / subscription state is mediated by Apple and RevenueCat. We hold an entitlement record so the app knows whether to unlock paid features. We do not see your payment method or card details.
Anonymous usage analytics
To understand which features are used and where the experience can be improved, tadoy records a small set of anonymous usage events — for example, that the app was opened, that a section or module was scrolled into view, that first-time setup was completed, or that a trial was started. We use a privacy-first analytics provider (Aptabase) for this, and it is deliberately limited:
- No content. We never include anything you write or track — no journal text, mood, body, or other entries — only the name of the event and a coarse tag such as which section was viewed.
- No identity. We don't attach your name, date of birth, email, or any device or advertising identifier. Events are tied to a rotating, anonymous session that cannot be linked across sessions or apps to build a profile of you.
- Not for advertising. This data is used only to improve the app, never for ads, never sold, never shared for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Your choice. It's on by default and you can turn it off at any time in the app under Backup → Anonymous usage. Turning it off stops these events being sent.
These anonymous events are processed by Aptabase on our behalf in the United States. See "Service providers" below.
What we don't collect
- We don't use advertising trackers, ad-network SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs in the app, and we don't collect device or advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA). The only usage measurement we do is the anonymous, content-free analytics described just above.
- We don't collect precise (GPS) location — weather uses only the coarse, city-level approximation described above.
- We don't use your camera, and we never sell personal information.
Accessed on your device, not sent to us
Some features read data on your device only, with your permission, and don't transmit it to our servers:
- Contacts — read on-device to surface upcoming birthdays in your circle.
- Photos and videos — today's items are shown in your evening review; they are not uploaded or stored by us.
- Calendar and reminders — read on-device to sit alongside your day. If you enable the morning Outlook, event titles and times are included in its summary, as described above.
- Microphone — used only when you dictate a journal entry; the audio is handled as described in "AI features" and the recording itself stays on your device.
3. How we use it
- To deliver the app's daily-page features.
- To compute astrological, human design, numerology, gene keys, and I Ching content from the birth data you provide.
- To generate AI-assisted reflective content in the Ask chat, the daily Outlook, the Heal body reflection, and the optional evening review, when those features are enabled.
- To send push notifications you've explicitly enabled (morning, evening, rituals, affirmations).
- To manage your trial and subscription entitlement.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
- To understand, in aggregate and anonymously, which features are used and where the experience can be improved, as described in section 2.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues.
4. AI features
tadoy uses third-party AI models — currently OpenAI — to generate a handful of reflective surfaces. Each one sends a different, narrowly-scoped input:
- Daily reads, Outlook, and chart interpretations. We send the deterministic, computed inputs (e.g. astrological positions, the name and date of birth you've supplied) to the model and store the generated text briefly in our cache.
- Ask conversations. We send only the messages you write inside an Ask conversation, plus the model's prior replies in that conversation. We do not send your journal entries, mood data, body notes, or other private modules into Ask.
- Heal (body reflection). We send only the symptom or sensation description you write into the Heal card at the moment you tap it. We do not send the rest of your body or journal data.
- Evening review (optional). When you complete the evening ritual with the review enabled, we send a short, structured summary of today's signals — mood, habit and med completion counts, exercise sessions, a capped snippet of any journal text you wrote today, a food summary, sleep, and cycle phase if applicable — so the model can write a specific synthesis of this day rather than a generic one. You can turn the review off in settings; turning it off stops anything being sent.
- Voice transcription. If you dictate a journal entry, the audio is sent to OpenAI Whisper to be transcribed into text; the audio file itself is not retained.
- Outlook, dream, and food reflections. The optional morning Outlook sends a structured day summary (which can include calendar event titles and times); a dream reflection sends the dream text you write; and food insights send your recent food entries. Each is generated on request and only when the feature is enabled.
- Spoken audio. If you choose to hear a brief read aloud, its text is sent to our AI provider to synthesise speech.
AI replies are clearly labelled. They are reflective, not advice, and you can report any reply you find inappropriate from within the app. Per the OpenAI API terms in effect, OpenAI does not use API content to train its models by default.
5. Data about other people (Us / Circle)
The Us and Circle features let you store information about people you care about — for example a partner's name and date of birth. Only add information about people who have agreed to it. You're responsible for the data you add about others. If someone asks to be removed, you can delete them from the app at any time.
6. Sensitive data
Some of the optional modules involve sensitive content — menstrual cycle tracking, body and bathroom logs, and journal entries. We treat this content with extra care:
- It is stored on your device, and we don't sync the full record to our servers.
- Cycle and bathroom data are never sent to AI.
- Journal text is only sent to AI in two narrow cases, and only with your action: (a) you dictate it, in which case the audio is transcribed by Whisper; or (b) you complete the optional evening review, in which case a capped snippet of today's journal is included in the review bundle. Outside those two paths, your journal text doesn't leave your device.
- Body / Heal: the symptom description you write into the Heal card is sent at the moment you ask for a reflection. Your wider body history isn't.
Apple Health
With your permission, tadoy works with Apple Health (HealthKit). It reads sleep, steps, heart rate, and mindful minutes to round out your reflection, and can write back the mood, meditation, breathwork, hydration, and cycle entries you log so the data lives in one place. Health data read from or written to Apple Health stays on your device and in your own Apple Health store. We never sell it, never use it for advertising or analytics, and never send your raw Health records to our servers. The only exception is the aggregated day signals (such as a sleep-quality band, mood trend, or cycle phase) that you choose to include when you enable the optional evening review or morning Outlook, described in "AI features."
7. Service providers
We use a small set of trusted providers to operate the app:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting our backend and short-lived caches (United States).
- OpenAI — generating AI text for daily reads, chart interpretations, the Ask chat, the Heal body reflection, dream and food reflections, and the optional evening review and morning Outlook; transcribing dictated journal entries via Whisper; and synthesising spoken audio (text-to-speech) for the briefs you choose to hear.
- Apple — distributing the app via the App Store, processing subscription payments, and storing your private, encrypted backup in your own iCloud.
- RevenueCat — managing your subscription entitlement on top of Apple's in-app purchases. We do not see your payment method or card details.
- Open-Meteo — returning local weather, sunrise, and sunset for the coarse, city-level location described above (no account, no identifiers).
- Aptabase — privacy-first, anonymous usage analytics (United States). Receives only the content-free, non-identifying events described in "Anonymous usage analytics" above.
- Expo — application build and update infrastructure.
Each provider is contractually bound to handle the data it receives only to deliver the service we use them for.
8. How long we keep data
- Daily reads and similar generated content: cached for up to 48 hours to keep the app fast, then expired.
- Account-level data we hold (e.g. the inputs you've used to compute charts): retained until you delete your account.
- Anonymous usage events: retained by our analytics provider in aggregate to track trends over time. They aren't linked to you, so they can't be tied back to your account.
- Local data and its iCloud backup: live until you delete the entries, remove your account, or delete the backup from iCloud. Uninstalling the app alone does not erase an existing iCloud backup.
9. Your rights and choices
You have meaningful control over your data:
- Delete your account. Profile → Settings → Remove account. This clears the account and any server-side data we hold for it.
- Back up and export your data. Automatic iCloud backup is on by default; you can also save a backup file and export a readable copy (CSV or PDF) at any time — exporting is never paywalled.
- Turn off modules. Any module can be hidden from settings — turning a module off stops new data being created in it.
- Disable AI features. Ask, Heal, and the evening review are each opt-in. Hide the cards or skip the prompts and nothing is sent.
- Turn off usage analytics. Backup → Anonymous usage turns off the anonymous usage measurement described in section 2.
- Manage notifications. Your operating system's notification settings, and the in-app ritual settings, both control what's sent.
Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, or other US states with applicable privacy laws), you may have additional rights, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, the right to know how it's used, the right to opt out of "sales" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share for targeted advertising), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these, write to contact@galactics.center.
10. Children
tadoy is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Security
Server-side data is stored in AWS with encryption at rest and in transit. No system is perfect — if we ever discover a security issue affecting your data, we'll notify you in line with applicable law.
12. International users
Our servers are operated in the United States. If you use the app from outside the US, the limited data described above will be transferred to and processed in the US.
13. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when something material changes and update the effective date at the top. For significant changes, we'll surface a notice in the app.
